Black Girl Justice League is Back!
It’s Time to Rally.
The 2020 Presidential election is upon us with new rules. GirlTrek is building the baddest, strongest, and largest group of Black women to make our voices heard and VOTE EARLY this election.
This is the moment we have trained for. And we are READY.
IT’S TIME TO DEPLOY THE BLACK GIRL JUSTICE LEAGUE.
From Fannie Lou Hamer to Ella Baker to Septima Clark, we have walked in the footsteps of our foremothers who fought for us to vote and demanded the change they wanted to see in America. With more than 850,000 Black women and counting, the world knows when GirlTrek walks we IGNITE CHANGE. And it’s time for us to do JUST THAT.
Welcome To The Black Girl Justice League.
This is the largest voter mobilization effort led by Black women.
GirlTrek is reactivating the #BlackGirlJusticeLeague this September through Election Day 2020 by encouraging Black women around the country to be civically engaged, informed, and, most importantly, to EARLY VOTE.
The November election is imperative — it not only determines our next commander-in-chief, but the local and state officials who will lead our communities. We must have a say in who that is. We can not sit this out. We have a right and responsibility to make our voices heard and they matter more now than ever before.
Democracy only works when we show up.
Today’s Call to Action:Start by educating yourself on the process of early voting in your state by heading here.
And, share this email or the flyer below on social media and encourage your mammas, sisters, aunties, and cousins to take the pledge to join GirlTrek and automatically become a member of the Black Girl Justice League.
If you’re already a GirlTrek member, no need to take the pledge again!
And, remember as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, GirlTrek does not endorse political candidates or issues; however, we do encourage EVERYONE to register to vote and to participate in civic engagement on the local, state, and federal levels.
We’re About to Make History
We have a lot of work to do to get out the vote. Watch your inbox for Black Girl Justice League action alerts. Throughout the month of September, we’re going to tell you everything you need to know and do to get registered and walk to cast your ballot.
Are you ready? We are.
