Summer Fridays - Come Walk With Us!
“Don't let anyone separate your self-care from your liberation work. Black self-care IS liberation work. How wonderfully revolutionary is it, that in a world constantly telling us we are not worthy of life and joy that we go on living, anyway? That we dance, and love, and kiss, and sing, and rejoice — anyway? It is resistance. We can hold church at 2 am in a bar, dancing across alters and freeing ourselves through radical acts of self-love. The personal IS political. So may our summer be full of baptismals on the front line, and braiding battle plans into our Bantu knots while listening to Badu... or UGK. Just don't forget that when you see us dancing in the middle of war it is not because we lost our way, it's because we have to find it — over and over again, in each other.”

This is not a drill!
It’s going down every Friday in July and we’re inviting all 801,941 of you [don’t tell us that we ain’t the #daughtersof praying women!] to join us for a weekly walk and talk series led by your favorite 'round the way girls, Vanessa and Morgan.
This is the fun you need in your life! We’ll be giving you a weekly rundown of all things Black joy throughout the diaspora with a little bit of radical self-care thrown in. You know how we do. So get your edge brush out and make those baby hairs pop. There’s going to be a 12PM, ET roll call every Friday and we want all of you to show up on the pavement with your sneakers laced up, prepared to walk it out with us.
Ready? We’ve queued up our Summer playlist to get the party started.
Turn it up extra loud!
It’s Summer 2020 and the universe is asking us to show up as Black and as proud as we possible we can.
Can't wait to walk with you.
Your Sisters,
Vanessa & Morgan
