How can you help?
Last week we sent an email inviting all of you to GirlTREK’s first-ever national membership meeting, broadcasting live on Sunday, March 10th, Harriet Tubman Day. If you haven’t RSVP’d, do so here.
It’s a big deal.
We just used population data from the Pew Research Center and other industry data sets to confirm that our members represent 10% of the population of Black women in America. With an intention to double our membership size over the next two years, the possibilities of what we can do as a collective—with the reach and engagement that we have—are endless.
Because of this, we know that our next moves must be strategic, ordered, protected, and judicious. The time is now. The momentum is with us.
That’s why we are so grateful that within minutes of sending last week’s email, there was a response in our inbox from Cara Everett at Rolling Out Magazine, a cultural institution in our community. It simply said, “How can we help?”
Thank you, Cara. And thank you, village. So many of you see the vision. So many of you email and reach out daily with this exact offer, how can I help?
This matters right now because—baby!—we are building, and we will need everybody’s help. We are building a base, building an agenda, building a platform, and so much more.
So if you are like Cara, and you are asking how can I support the GirlTREK movement right now, here are some real time opportunities.
